Khandaker Anwar Ehtesham was born in 1983 in a small town of Kisharganj in Bangladesh. However, his parents moved to the port city, Chittagong, when he was at the age of two. After completing his higher secondary education, he moved to the capital city of the country, Dhaka, in 2004. Dhaka is the eighth largest and sixth most densely populated city in the world. Since he moved from Chittagong, one of the most naturally beautiful cities of Bangladesh, he was having a hard time adjusting with the environment and busy life of Dhaka. Leaving most of his friends behind at his hometown made it worse. And unfortunately, he could not make friends in this new environment. So, living in Dhaka became a nightmare.

In 2006, he achieved a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) with a Marketing major from American International University Bangladesh (AIUB). His journey continued as he ventured into the corporate world, immersing himself in leading multinational companies and prominent advertising agencies. Alongside his professional pursuits, he pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at East West University in 2008, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and growth.

Amidst a demanding schedule, the yearning for photography persisted within him. It wasn’t until 2019 that he took the decisive step, acquiring his first camera in November of that year. Initially drawn to landscape photography, he eventually found his niche in street photography, despite his initial shyness and nervousness. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 transformed his approach, allowing him to comfortably capture masked individuals on the streets, blending into the crowd.

With a keen eye for capturing the essence of humanity, he formed a community of like-minded street photographers, fostering confidence and creativity while exploring the city’s hidden corners. For Mr. Ehtesham, the interplay of people and their surroundings defines his artistry, encapsulating various emotions and behaviors in the frame.

His dedication towards street and documentary photography have earned him recognition in esteemed local and international photography magazines and dailies such as Street Photography Magazine, The Pictorial List, Spectaculum Magazine, ProgressivE-zine, F-Stop Magazine, Edge of Humanity Magazine, and The Business Standard, etc. solidifying his place in the photography world. Additionally, his photography has gained recognition on Instagram and Facebook through features in multiple photography communities, including BCN Collective, Street Macadam, My Street BNW, Shadow Magazine, Street Avengers, The Street Photography Hub, Pure Street Photography, PhotographizeMag, DPSP Rainshot, Street Photography Society, Street Photography Gallery, Inspired Street, Global Fotografia Streets, BNW Street Foto, Interpubliq, Swiss Street Collective, Effe4.0, and Friends in Profile, among others. Furthermore, he serves as the Curator for a renowned street photography hub on Instagram namely, WeGallery Photos®︎.

While drawing inspiration from a multitude of renowned photographers, Steve McCurry and Fan Ho remain his most cherished and profound influences.

Beyond the realm of photography, Khandaker Anwar Ehtesham wears the hat of a marketing and communications specialist. He currently holds the esteemed position of Head of Brands & PR at a prominent bank in Bangladesh.

In his personal life, Khandaker Anwar Ehtesham is happily married to an incredible woman, who was not only his college classmate but also the proud mother of twins—a son and a daughter.
